| If the screen is turning black when you click on some overlays, you have one of two things happening:
(1) An out-of-date version of Java is on the computer and therefore cannot correctly overlay the images. OR...
(2) You actually have two different versions of Java on your computer, and both are competing for control causing a mismatch to take place.
(1) can be solved by going to www.java.com. At the top of the page, you will see Java Software Free Download. And under that, there is a little link
labeled "Verify Installation." Click on that link.
This will take you to a page that will have a yellow button labeled "Verify Installation." Click on that. A small diagnostic test will then be performed on your computer.
If you have the required software, then you will get a message saying, "Congratulations, you have the latest Java Software."
If you do not get that message, you can then download the latest version from the same page.
(2) can be solved by going into your Internet Browser and choosing "Tools" and then "Internet Options" and then clicking on the "Advanced" Tab.
Scroll down until you see the heading "Java." You will want to only have one Java checkbox activated, preferably Java Sun with the latest version, which is
JRE 1.5.0_06.
If this one is checked, you will want to make sure that the other Java software - which is usually Microsoft's JIT compiler - is Unchecked. In other words, you don't want to have both programs competing for control
over MyOwnRadar. The Java Sun version is best.
Also be advised that Windows 95 cannot handle MyOwnRadar! |
