Some rain and storms on Thursday and Friday

Drier this weekend but turning hotter through next week

NEW ORLEANS —

New Orleans Latest Weather Forecast

A complex of storms is moving out of Texas towards Louisiana which will approach our local area later this afternoon. Storms look to weaken as they arrive, so not everyone will get rain, but some of them could hang on leading to a few showers and thunderstorms late this afternoon into the early evening. Storms look more promising on the Northshore. Keep an eye on things if heading out to Jazz Fest! Also, grab the rain gear just in case for today and tomorrow since another round of showers looks to arrive again Friday.

Friday looks similar with another complex of storms diving in from Texas and weakening on its approach. A few of those showers and storms will move in throughout Friday. Both today and tomorrow bring about a 40-50% chance of rain.

This weekend looks better with mostly dry conditions. It will be very warm and humid with high temperatures in the upper 80s. More sunshine will be around, too, so keep sun protection in mind this weekend!

Even hotter weather arrives early next week with plenty of sunshine and a humid-feel. High temperatures will approach 90° by the middle of next week. On average at the NOLA INTL. Airport, the first 90° day typically falls on May 18th so here we go!
